Harnessing heritage to deliver a vision.
When independent hotel group Heritage Estates acquired Cockliffe House, they had big plans for the 17th century former farmhouse. An extensive refurbishment scheme to transform the venue’s bedrooms, restaurant and wedding and conference facilities was put in place – but they needed to intrigue and entice new and existing customers if this massive investment was going to pay off.
Lifting the brand
Choosing a venue for a one-off special event or a relaxing break is a big decision and competition in the marketplace is strong. Tribe was asked to create a new visual identity for Cockliffe House – one that would lift the brand and represent the characteristics that make it a unique and beautiful venue.
From the outset our aim was to create an identity full of charm and heritage – one that stands apart from the competition. Using the building itself as inspiration, we sought to harness its elegant, authentic, appeal and reflect the consideration and purpose the new investment looks to inject into the brand.
Inspired by the past, looking to the future
The new logo is timeless and represents trust and tradition. Inspired by Cockliffe House’s rich heritage, our aim was to create something that feels like it’s always been a part of the building’s fabric. However, it also needed to have a contemporary edge – perfectly encapsulating their ambitions for the future.
Colours with elegance
We chose a palette that feels premium and heritage. Elegant colours that are confident without being flamboyant, and foil block, brings a tactile element. A pattern is used in light shades and tints to heighten visual resonance with the hotel’s aesthetic on branded communications.
Build it and they will come
Our creative partnership with Cockliffe House is ongoing and their new brand will soon be rolled out to a fully responsive website. The new site will be a great showcase for Cockliffe, making it easy for anyone looking for a unique venue or an inspirational place to stay to browse and book.
