The Guardian’s bold new print campaign.

Unlike almost every other news outlet, the Guardian isn’t owned by shareholders who can influence news stories and push their own agendas. The Guardian’s ‘unapologetic’ print campaign by BBH proclaims the newspaper’s independence in bold, uncompromising fashion.

There’s lots of appreciation around Tribe today for the print campaign BBH have have created for the Guardian newspaper to celebrate its independence. The set of typographic posters features provocative statements in bold Guardian Egyptian (the Guardian’s typeface) such as using a combination of black and a single vivid colour or white. The typeface is used in an illustrative form with subtle design details such as a gun crosshair and a crossed ballot paper added for stark impact.

The typographic approach and bold art direction lets the message punch through with absolute power and clarity. The campaign launched last week in the UK and will soon roll out in Australia and North America.
