I’m rather taken with the way that Bangkok University are reinventing their student’s social space with some phenomenal interior design from Supermachine Studio. It’s been created with real wit and flair but there’s no mistaking this is seriously sophisticated design.
Not looking out of place in a chic city hotel, many of the features have been designed to adapt and be fully manipulated – the ‘ribs’ on the walls can be reconfigured to create new spaces, a super-long pool table has adjustable holes and then there’s the huge modular sofa that be rearranged to seat a canteen full of students. The aim is to reinterpret and re-imagine the space so that their students want to study there but also want to spend more social time on campus and enjoy the environment…I’m not sure I’d ever want to leave.
